Writer in Residence Poetry Workshop with Annette Skade
05/10/17 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
This workshop sets out to find poems in place, whether that journey be through space or time. For her forthcoming collection Skade has written poems which respond to places in Italy, Ireland and England. Participants may have already done much the same, or may begin their journey here.
The workshop is suitable for everyone. Some examples of Place Poems will be looked at, and there will be an opportunity to write during the workshop. Annette would like to confess that she has never written a perfect poem in half an hour, so there will be no pressure to produce a piece of writing. Participants may bring one of their own poems to be workshopped by the group if time allows.
Some comments from fellow poets on Annette Skade’s Workshops
‘…the best I have experienced. There are various reasons, apart from her obvious intelligence and good humour..’
‘…a very professional and inspiring workshop facilitator. She is very well-prepared and has the gift of being encouraging whilst being an astute critic. Her enthusiasm for poetry, and for the craft of poetry, is infectious.’
‘I found the workshops very encouraging and helpful. Annette has a wonderful way of
making poetry stay with you.’
