📣 🎶 We are currently looking for a new Organist/Director of Music to begin anytime from July 2023 🎶 📣

Would you like to come and work and live in Florence, the heart of art and culture? We are currently in the process of appointing a new Organist/Director of Music to lead the music at St Mark’s English Church, Florence, working with our friendly choir and wonderful staff team and congregation to lead our rich musical programme, and to continue our long-standing English choral tradition here at St Mark’s. The role involves playing for weekly Sunday morning services, leading a weekly mid-week choir rehearsal, organising all musical events in the church (including with visiting musicians), and working in the office in an administrative capacity for a few hours during the week. Unfortunately, due to Brexit, we can only appoint a musician who holds an EU passport or a Brexit exemption identity card.

If you are interested in this exciting role, please send an expression of interest to revchris007@gmail.com – applications will be considered as they are received ✉️

Sunday Rotas – If you would like to volunteer to help out with coffee/readings/welcoming at our Sunday services, either regularly or as a one-off, please add your name to this spreadsheet. Thank you so much! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10RgRxiTQG_tEAKsBjqaN3vlba6fAWULh4gBUV9LcjTo/edit

Sunday’s Hymns – Each week Bethy provides a link on our website to the hymns we’re singing next Sunday so you can familiarise yourself with any new tunes. You can see them here: https://stmarksitaly.com/hymns-for-the-week/

WhatsApp Group – We have started a church WhatsApp group so we can get urgent (and not-so-urgent) messages to people who attend church regularly. Want to join? Send your name and phone number to Pascale: administrator@stmarksitaly.com

Church Opening – When we open our doors, people come in! That has been our experience over the last 5 months. We would love to have the church open for at least two hours every weekday. If you can offer two hours a week (preferably 10-12, but other hours are possible), please speak to Bernie or Chris.

Newsletter – We have now restarted our regular St Mark’s newsletter. If you are not receiving this and would like to, please give your name and email to Chris or Linda.
