Eleanor Walker has a Masters in Art History from the Courtauld Institute, London where she specialised in the Italian Renaissance. Her career has spanned the Art World, Museum Sector and Travel Industry. She speaks Italian and French and is enthusiastic about making the arts accessible and engaging. When not at St Mark’s, Eleanor is also the Teaching Assistant for Art History at Stanford University in Florence and Marking Consultant for Art History at the British Institute.
Prior to the pandemic, Eleanor worked for SpecialTours at The Ultimate Travel Company, organising, planning and leading luxury art and garden tours to Europe for American museums, galleries, societies, clubs and private clients. In August 2020, she was Assistant Company Manager for the New Generation Festival hosted in the Boboli Gardens, an opera and classical music festival promoting emerging artists from around the world. Previously, she worked as Marketing and Sales Executive for Art History Abroad which runs courses in Italy for students aged 17-25. She has also worked for Sotheby’s in London and Portland Gallery, a private commercial art gallery in St James’, London.
Italy has always been a great passion for Eleanor, having lived in both Venice and Florence and extensively studied the country’s art, language and culture. She was Artistic Director at St Mark’s 2020-2021, and also enjoys music and plays the flute, saxophone and sings in St Mark’s Choir.
