What we believe

A world-wide community of believers

  • ANGLICANISM

Anglicanism is a Christian tradition that began during the 16th Century as part of the Protestant Reformation.

    The word “Anglican” means
    ”of England”.

We as Anglicans, value being part of a global community of churches, our history, and our commitment to tradition, reason, the Bible and the teachings of Jesus.

The Archbishop of Canterbury is the senior bishop and a principal leader of the Church of England, the ceremonial head of the worldwide Anglican Communion and the bishop of the Diocese of Canterbury.

Justin Welby is currently the Archbishop of Cantebury (March 2024)

  • PROVINCES

As British Christians spread their faith around the world,
churches were formed on every continent and in many countries.

Over time, separate “provinces” of the Anglican Church were established worldwide.

  • WORLDWIDE COMMUNION

    Today, this group of churches
    consists of 38
    self-governing provinces, in 164 countries,
    with millions of members.
